The language teachers at Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. organized a different activity for the students, using music as a resource to expand their contact with English, Spanish, and French. The initiative connected classroom content with moments of interaction and participation among the children.

During their classes, the students learned and practiced songs in the three languages included in the Institute’s educational program. The experience allowed the children to engage with new words, expressions, and language structures through a musical activity.

The preparation also involved the students’ participation in different stages of the activity. By working with the songs in class, the children practiced aspects related to comprehension, vocabulary, and pronunciation, using the languages in a context that differed from their regular classroom activities.

As part of the program, the learning developed in the classroom was brought to the auditorium at Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. The students took part in a karaoke presentation between classes, putting into practice the content they had previously studied and using the languages in a collective activity.

Using music as an educational resource provides different ways of engaging with a new language. Songs can support vocabulary development and the understanding of words and expressions, while also creating opportunities to practice pronunciation and listening skills.

The activity also addressed aspects related to memory and concentration. Learning, memorizing, and reproducing musical passages requires attention to sounds, words, and sentence sequences, creating an additional dynamic to the learning developed during regular classes.

Another aspect of the initiative was the students’ participation in an activity in front of their classmates. The presentation provided an opportunity for the children to use the knowledge acquired in class and interact with other students through the languages they were studying.

The initiative combined learning and interaction in an activity that brought English, Spanish, and French closer to a practical and collective experience. At Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr., activities of this kind expand the ways students can use languages and provide opportunities to learn, practice, and communicate in other languages through different approaches.
