Nesta sexta-feira, dia 18 de março de 2022, completam-se dois anos desde que o Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. fechou as portas devido à pandemia do COVID, em 2020.
Foram vinte e quatro meses de incerteza e saudade em que o INJR, mesmo fechado, se manteve ativo e pensando no bem-estar das crianças e colaboradores. Do medo à incerteza e graças à ciência, hoje todos retomaram as atividades do projeto e caminham para um cenário mais próximo possível de dois anos atrás.
O Diretor Financeiro do INJR, Altamiro Bezerra, comenta a necessidade dessa pausa. “A gente tem um contingente muito elevado aqui no Instituto, com as crianças e os nossos colaboradores. Então, devido a esse alto número de pessoas, foi necessário a gente fazer um recesso prolongado”. Altamiro ainda reforça o desejo de acolhimento do projeto nesse retorno. “O Instituto está de braços abertos, os profissionais estão aqui à disposição, ávidos por recebê-los, para que façam com que esse desenvolvimento de cada um possibilite uma melhoria de vida para cada um deles. Então sejam muito bem-vindos, estamos aqui a esperá-los de braços abertos e ansiosos para esse reencontro”.
A professora de leitura e escrita, Érica Mendes Rodrigues, conta que o que mais a incomodou no início foram as dúvidas. “A gente pensou que as portas podiam fechar definitivamente. Tudo era uma incógnita, ninguém tinha segurança de nada, nenhuma estabilidade até então. Foi bem assustador”. Mas ela lembra que o Instituto devolveu aos colaboradores a segurança necessária, garantindo o emprego de mais de 140 funcionários mesmo de portas fechadas.
No dia 8 de novembro de 2021, os colaboradores retornaram ao INJR, ainda sem a presença dos alunos. Para Érica, ali foi o ponto de esperança. “Eu senti um alívio em estar de volta, de ver que a gente ia retomar a vida, porque a gente ficou engessado, sem poder fazer muitas coisas, então retornar foi um momento de alívio, colocar em prática muita coisa que eu estudei, que eu tentei me aprimorar”.
Mas o Instituto ainda não estava completo. E foi no dia 7 de março de 2022, apenas uma semana antes de completar dois anos fechado, que os alunos retornaram ao INJR. Érica conta que, quanto eles regressaram, estavam ainda mais ansiosos que os professores. “Foi maravilhoso ver os alunos novos com os olhinhos brilhando, pensando ‘eu estou aqui, eu faço parte disso!’, e, ao mesmo tempo, ver o crescimento dos que estão retornando e já eram nossos alunos”. E, pra eles, a professora Érica deixa um recado: “Eu quero desejar que eles aproveitem ao máximo, que façam valer a oportunidade que eles estão tendo de estar aqui. Aproveitem cada segundo, porque o tempo passa e não volta! É o nosso maior tesouro”.
O auxiliar de portaria, Henrique Otavio Beserra Alves Luz tem um papel importante: todo dia, ele recepciona as crianças e adolescentes na porta do INJR. Quando as portas fecharam, ele pensou que seria algo rápido; no máximo em 40 dias, estaria de volta. “Quando passou dois, três meses, começou a bater um receio”. Ele relata que ficou feliz com a volta, mas, lá em novembro de 2021, ainda faltava um pedacinho do Instituto. “A gente voltou um pouco antes do que as crianças. Sem elas, esse lugar não tem vida. Qualquer lugar que a gente olhe, a gente sentia falta delas”.
Sobre os dois anos afastados, Henrique reflete que foi um período de aprendizagem e que voltamos mais fortes. “Eu acredito que agora a gente vá valorizar os pequenos momentos que a gente perde. Nesse recomeço, a gente vai dar muito mais valor a qualquer tipo de oportunidade que a gente tiver e acredito que tudo vá se alinhando”. Para os alunos e colaboradores, fica o recado de esperança: “Eu quero que toda equipe, os professores, funcionários, possam fazer de tudo para recuperar um pouco o que as crianças perderam. Acredito que a gente vá dar toda energia para eles, para que a gente possa ensinar e aprender com eles também. Acredito que esse ano vai ser muito bom. Agora, daqui pra frente, é só melhora, se Deus quiser”.

This Friday, March 18, 2022, two years have passed since Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. closed its doors due to the COVID pandemic in 2020.
There were twenty-four months of uncertainty and longing in which the INJR, even closed, remained active and thinking about the well-being of children and employees. From fear to uncertainty and thanks to science, today everyone resumes project activities and walks towards a scenario as close as possible to two years ago.
INJR’s Financial Director, Altamiro Bezerra, comments on the need for this break. “We have a very large contingent here at the Institute, with children and our employees. So, due to this high number of people, it was necessary for us to take a prolonged recess”. Altamiro also reinforces the desire to welcome the project in this return. “The Institute has open arms, the professionals are here at your disposal, eager to receive them, so that this development of each one makes possible an improvement in the life of each one of them. So you are very welcome, we are here waiting for you with open arms and looking forward to this reunion”.
The reading and writing teacher, Érica Mendes Rodrigues, says that what bothered her the most at first were her doubts. “We thought the doors could close permanently. Everything was a mystery, no one was sure of anything, no stability at first, so it was pretty scary.” But she recalls that the Institute gave employees the necessary security, guaranteeing the employment of more than 140 employees even behind closed doors.
On the 8th of November, the collaborators returned to the INJR, still without the presence of the students. For Erica, that was the point of hope. “I felt a relief to be back, to see that we are going to resume life, because we were in a cast, unable to do many things, so returning was a moment of relief, putting into practice a lot of what I studied, which I tried to improve myself”.
But the Institute was not yet complete. And it was on March 8, just a week before completing two years closed, that the students returned to the INJR. Erica says that when they returned, they were even more anxious than the teachers. “It was wonderful to see the New Years with their eyes shining, thinking ‘I’m here, I’m part of this!’, and, at the same time, seeing the growth of those who are returning and were already our students”. And, for them, teacher Érica leaves a message: “I want them to make the most of it, to make the opportunity they are having to be here worth it. Enjoy every second, because time passes and doesn’t come back! It is our greatest treasure.”
Security guard Henrique Otavio Beserra Alves Luz plays an important role: every day, he welcomes children and adolescents at the door of the INJR. When the doors closed, he thought it would be something quick; within 40 days at the most, I would be back. “When two, three months passed, a fear began to hit”. He reports that he was happy with the return, but back in November 2021, a little piece of the Institute was still missing. “We came back a little earlier than the children. Without them, this place has no life. Everywhere we looked, we missed them.”
About the two years away, Henrique reflects that it was a period of learning and that we came back stronger. “I believe that now we will value the little moments that we miss. In this new beginning, we will give much more value to any type of opportunity that we have and I believe that everything will align”. For the students and employees, there is a message of hope: “I want the whole team, the teachers, employees, to be able to do everything to recover a little of what the children have lost. I believe that we will give them all our energy, so that we can teach and learn from them as well. I believe this year will be very good. Now, from now on, it’s just getting better, God willing”.
