On May 10th, the students of Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. had the opportunity to participate in a special lecture on sustainability, preservation of the environment and careful disposal of waste, offered by the Eco Garopaba project and given by coordinators Carolina Scorsin and Jairo Lummertz.
During the lecture, students were able to learn about the problems caused by garbage on the planet and the importance of caring for nature and correctly separating waste. Carolina Scorsin, coordinator of Eco Garopaba, highlighted the use of a surfboard made with pet bottles as a tool to raise children’s awareness. She pointed out that garbage has value and that it is possible to encourage sports and adopt different techniques to deal with it.
Jairo Lummertz, also coordinator of Eco Garopaba, emphasized the importance of alerting children about sorting waste and the responsible consumption of food and packaging. He highlighted that these actions are essential to guarantee a quality and more dignified future for the next generations.
The lecture was very well received by the students. Ana Clara, one of the INJR students, expressed her excitement about learning about recycling and the importance of avoiding sea pollution. The initiative provided the students of Instituto Neymar Jr. a valuable opportunity to learn about sustainability and become agents of change for the environment.
