Young participants in the INJR Crew Members program took part in a practical Restaurant Server training session led by Victor Lombardi, Dining Room Manager at Costa Crociere. The activity was part of the participants’ preparation for their future professional roles aboard Costa Cruises ships, providing hands-on contact with procedures related to restaurant service operations.

During the class, the young participants received guidance on different stages of restaurant service. The procedures covered included the proper way to hold and carry trays, serving passengers, carrying plates and glasses, and setting and organizing tables.

The activity also addressed the sequence of service and the appropriate order for carrying out different stages of customer service. The guidance included aspects related to professional conduct, organization, attention to detail, and the execution of the different steps involved in serving passengers.

Practical activities allow participants to become familiar with procedures that are part of their future professional routine before boarding. In this way, the knowledge developed during the training can be connected to situations that the young participants may encounter in their workplace on board.

The session led by Victor Lombardi of Costa Crociere also gave the INJR Crew Members an opportunity to clarify questions and observe specific restaurant service procedures in practice. The experience complements other stages of the professional preparation provided through the program.

Throughout the training process, participants are introduced to technical knowledge and situations related to life and work aboard cruise ships, increasing their familiarity with the procedures that will be part of their professional experience at sea.
